Hey all
Malam Gagasan Budaya 2008 will be on 20th July. The purpose of this event is to promote the Club to the new juniors. There are 2 tasks:
1. Prepare OG media for the exhibition: photos, videos, slideshows, website, forum, etc.
2. Prepare a performance to attract the new juniors: 3-4 songs, we will discuss this matter
I don't have much information, feel free to give ideas on the media & the songs we could perform for that event. If anyone has more information, do post here.

We can use laptops to show OG's website, forum, photos and videos.
Have to assign someone to handle the slideshow as well.
We can also display our instruments to attract new members to join us.

i agree... most important for the OG is to find experienced players and of course talented one as well... but actually i think for those who knows instruments would join the group if they really want to...so basically i can categorize them who not interested in joing are those who not serious in music, is that reasonable? _________________ ash_ash |

1. Yeah I agree we do need to attract people who can play music into the OG. Previously, people didn't join because either we didn't have the instrument or they didn't know much about us. This means we have to do heavy publicity work to get their attention. As for lack of instruments, we really can't do much about that but wait. Plus ash is right; if they are interested, they will join us. We just want them to join quicker mwahaha
So how can we attract these people? First they have to come to the event:
- watch our performances & realize it's not just a "fan club", we actually do perform.
- come to our booth & watch the slideshow, the website etc, listen to our explanation of our activities & what we do.
That's pretty much all I can think of. Another thing is to get EVERYONE in the OG to do their part to spread the word about us. I'm not really sure about putting up banners, it makes us too pompous
2. We will have to update the website; currently the only parts I haven't tackled is uploading photos to provide on the site. We can also give them a chance to browse the forum & sign up; maybe we will need 2 laptops for that to cater to more people. Displaying our instruments is a good idea, it'll definitely show that we are a REAL music group.
3. As for the performances, if possible, we should utilize all instruments to show our diversity & I think this will attract performing people, as well as people interested in music. We need to play our best songs, even though it may seem like a small event, I think we have to show top quality music there.

True. About the banner, i think doesnt need it. It'll be too much! Plus we dont have this money for that. Maybe pamplettes or flyers could be better Just ask some OG people help to design a simple flyer promoting our group plus asking them to support our booth. How bout it? _________________ ash_ash |

^Yeah a banner would be too much; yeah we can just have pamphlets. I think that would be good enough. We design something simple, explaining about us & pass it to each room

So far how many people are avalaible? What instrument will have?
I'm ok to perform.
What songs to perform maybe have to decide when we know who will perform. Maybe like "To Where You Are", "My Heart"... Depends on who we have.

Yup I agree, I think we've to wait after the meeting to decide how the program will be, then we can decide what to perform, but you're right, we should stick to songs that we are familiar with.

Ya, i felt shock when i first hear that the thing will be on 9th July. The publicity will be under the Club i think, they must have their own strategy.

the fact is, if that person is interested in orchestra, it won't take that long for him/her to get in line to register with the OG. Those who hav been playing since their high school years will absolutely be eager and anxious. heavy and Intense publicity might or might not work but EFFECTIVE publicity will DEFINITELY work. therefore, i think the apt call wud be to invest on a highly EFFECTIVE publicity. _________________ Dinosaurs Against Fossil Fuels. |

1. Definitely publicity is important, we need to really promote the group.
2. It's not really true that people who are interested will join, some of our members who are interested joined pretty late

Izit no need publicity by our own OG? How bout last year? Did we do any publicity thingy?
