I will provide the direct info in Malay for convenience's sake, but let's try to discuss in English please

TEMA
"Muzik Menyemarakkan Perpaduan Bangsa"
BUTIRAN
1. Tarikh: 14-15Mac 2008
2. Tempat: Dewan Kapitol UniMAP, Kangar, Perlis
3. Masa: 8pm
4. Pertandingan adalah di dalam satu pusingan sahaja.
SYARAT
Again, I'll only inform about important points here
1. Ahli kumpulan tidak boleh melebihi 15 orang. Setiap kumpulan peserta wajib diwakili oleh setiap bangsa (Melayu, Cina, India)
2. Yuran penyertaan: RM600
3. Segala perbelanjaan pakaian & persediaan termasuk penyediaan peralatan muzik tambahan adalah tanggungan kumpulan masing-masing.
4. Lagu
- Lagu wajib
- Lagu pilihan (bebas)
- Lagu instrumental (bebas)
5. Fokus pemarkahan
- Lagu wajib: keupayaan vokal penyanyi serta kombinasi penyanyi dengan band pengiring.
- Lagu pilihan: kreativiti persembahan keseluruhan.
- Lagu instrumental: kemantapan kumpulan & kemahiran pemuzik melalui semangat kepasukan
6. Hakim: terdiri daripada pemuzik profesional, mahir dalam bidang muzik & tiada kaitan dengan mana-mana IPTA.
7. Masa persembahan: tidak boleh melebihi 15 min.
8. Alatan Muzik:
-Penganjur akan menyediakan: 2 x amplifier gitar, 1 x amplifier bass, 1 x amplifier keyboard, 1 x keyboard, 1 x set drum, 1 x set congga. Alatan muzik seperti gitar etc hendaklah dibawa oleh peserta.
9. Tambahan:
- Persembahan adalah LIVE.
- Tidak dibenarkan merujuk kepada nota muzik semasa pertandingan.
HADIAH
Johan: Piala pusingan, piala iringan, wang tunai RM3000, hamper, sijil penyertaan.
Naib johan: Piala iringan, wang tunai RM2500, hamper, sijil penyertaan.
Tempat Ketiga: Piala iringan, wang tunai RM2000, hamper, sijil penyertaan.
Persembahan terbaik: Wang tunai RM500, hamper.
Kumpulan yang tidak berjaya: sijil, hamper, tunai RM200

Well I met Mr.Zaki today and these are the updates:
Performers
1. Violin: Jo Ann
2. Flute: Kelvin
3. Keyboard: Kai Bin, Ainul, Sheila
4. Bass: David
5. Electric guitar: PENDING
6. Accoustic guitar: Ariff Zaki
7. Clarinet: Firdaus
8. Tenor Sax: Chi Hui
9. Trumpet: Cheryl
10. Drum: Shahrel
11. Percussion: Nadhirah
12. Vocalists: (2 from choir)
13. Tabla: Arvin
To performing members who weren't selected, you CAN still join us for rehearsals & come to the competition also as reserves. If you join, think about the experience you'd get
Training
1. We will be trained by Mr.Indra, he has already prepared the scores for us.
2. Training will be at a studio in Kuantan. UMP will provide bus for our transport.
3. Schedule:
6/3: 7pm
7/3: 5.30pm
8/3: 9am
9/3: 9am
11/3: 7pm
13/3: 7pm (we should be leaving on this day)
So as you can see, WE DON'T HAVE MUCH TIME LEFT
We MIGHT have to do our own practise whenever possible.
So feel free to ask questions

Just now I met Mr.Zaki, he called Mr.Indra, Mr.Indra said they need bonga & don't know what else for the performance. So we need someone who can play these instruments. Unless you feel you want to play these instruments & you can, then we can reconsider

As far as I know since we'll only perform once, we only need 1 set of performing attire...so I'm not sure exactly what we are wearing, as long as it's decent & not inappropriate

Hahaha...we all discuss the outfits together...then propose to En.Zaki, like how the choir & gamelan did, I think 
So remember for this competition, WE CANNOT REFER TO MUSIC NOTES. We have to be able to recite the song by heart. 3 songs. May the heavens bless us 
UPDATE: Mr.Zaki has alredy asked for T shirts for us. I'm not sure if we'll be wearing that while performing.

Thank you!! We really need luck!!
EDIT: UPDATE
Well 13 universities joined the competition, only 6 made it to the finals...Mr.Zaki told me that we were ranked 7th...The performances were fabulous...every team had something unique to offer. I'll never forget UTEM's trombone player & Firdaus' abang botak 
Plus the arabic music by USIM, & the beautiful singer from UUM...who could forget USM's synchronized performance? With the cool & coordinated dance moves...yew soon was beside himself when USM trumpeteers blew
All in all, the trip was great plus exposure was amazing...definitely need to polish up on many aspects
Another update: To those who went to UniMaP, you may take your absence letter from the Unit Kesenian. Remember to photocopy & give to your lecturers.

Don't worry bout MAKUM 2008, it took only 10 days to prepare and still UMP got 7th, that's a cool thing.
Maybe next year an earlier preparation can make the OG bring the our uni's name to higher grounds
