Hey all

1. UMP Orchestra Group will perform for the UMP Convocation 2008, the highlight will be the Bonang the Rhythm performance, a combination of gamelan & orchestra music, this is probably the first time such a combination is done:

Convocation Dinner: 22 Aug
Convocation: 23 Aug
Expoconvo: 24 Aug

2. We will need all the performers that we have, we are expected to give our best for this program. The complete list will be released ASAP.

3. There will be 4 rehearsals, during the following dates:

17-20 July
25-27 July
8-10 Aug
14-17 Aug
The venue & time will be announced ASAP.

Yeah! i feel excited about the performance...
We got 4 times practices... I might miss one of it...

I think this sem will be pretty hectic, we all have to just try our best, we have to give our best & we are counting on each other to do that Smile

this Bonang The Rhythm will be with Gamelan...
I still remember last time convocation 2007, few of us from Orchestra together with En.Musif have to carry all the instruments(Orchastra & Gamelan). I wonder are we going to do the same thing this time??? Hehe... Rolling Eyes

I understand that we should help each other, but i think sometime people shouldn't take things for granted. Sad

^I agree, we have alot of equipment to carry about. I don't mind helping but it must be us helping them, not them helping us. It's their instrument. We will tell them off if need be.

Maybe I'll just put a list of names of performers, we'll update as we go along:

Violin: Me, Ban Sheng, Sharizan, Ai Ti, Ammiratun
Flute: Kelvin, May
Guitar: Ezrin, Ariff
Drum: Shahrel, Azmi Raif
Clarinet: Teh, Firdaus, Huoy Ying
Trombone: Abigail
Xylophone: Nadhirah, Si Hui
Keyboard: Ainul, Sheila, Sue Ann, Thelahaeswary, Ser Er, Kai Bin, Albrecht

For instruments with more players than instruments, we'll see who is best suited to perform for convocation.

^Yeah, we can't go by qualifications, it isn't necessary a good gauge of who is the better player. We'll have to see how it goes, Mr.Zaki informed Ainul that we will use AS MANY INSTRUMENTS WE CAN. So the limiting reactant (haha) is the number of instruments...Unless they can get more instruments, which I think is highly unlikely...

This Thursday, which is tomorrow will start the practice right.
What time is the practice?
Where we practice? And also the details of the training how?

And tomorrow night we will have meeting with all the members, will the meeting clash with training?
