WHY?
1. The site is to provide reference to the OG. The message is WE ARE HERE. It's time to show them what we have done & what we will do.
2. The site will provide the latest updates of the OG for the general public.

WHAT CAN YOU DO?
1. If you have images, articles etc to contribute to the site, please post here.
2. Do let us know about any suggestions to improve the site. We want it to be friendly, detailed & accurate.
3. I will need a team of people who are dedicated to develop the site further. If you are interested, please contact me, either through PM/Skype.

In my opinion,
The descriptions in the Activities section should be more descriptive to make them sound more interesting and impress readers.
About us section is ok...clear and simple. Cool

Hm...my suggestion, ask articles from forum members to have a nice good descriptions for the site. Embarassed

Overall, its a good start and nice try Very Happy

While creating a site to upload the music sheet scans, I've thought of creating a better website for the OG. The site is accessible to the public, except for the directory to the sheet music which is password-protected. When it's up & running, I'll let you know Smile

Just to keep you guys in the loop - I am working on getting the new site up. Remember that this is going to be YOUR site. SO, let me know what you guys think would be a good layout. What do you want to see on the site. I really liked the image that I had on the home page, i just think it looked odd with it being cut off on the bottom. Something that is a solid shape would be great. I'm sure there are some pretty good graphics artists here - let's get that logo competition back into the the works!

Its a work in progress really - start small and eventually it can be something great but I cant do it all alone as i need some good graphic artists. Also, the content that is going to be on there is something that I need for you all to let me know about. For the time being, I'll need you all to send me the info and i can put it all up there and get the links done and what not. Eventually, I would like to make it so that the OG members will be able to post stuff and the links will be built automatically. This can be kept secure with the password protected area. Right now it is the download area that is password protected and Rowanlim has the password for that.

What I want to do eventually is turn that area into a spot that you can use to register as a member on the site and be able to post your own content (I have to do some research on this).

EDIT: Forgot the most important part about the logo for the site.... use PNG or GIF format with a transparent background so that the sites background color can be something other than white.

EDIT2: been hard at work - got something at least decent looking up there now. I still want a better logo banner.

Oh, just so you all know - the site is optimized for 1024x768 displays (or bigger).

WOOTNESS!! Media site is up now! All the stuff is in a Flash Player now - no going to separate sites anymore. Very Happy

Just some ideas from some members :p

1. Font: can we use a font that's not so formal, more fun yet not childish/silly? Smile

I've no idea what fonts would be suitable...I looked through some (at Microsoft Word haha), thought of the following:

TW Cent MT
Georgia
Bodoni MT
Copperplate Gothic
Papyrus

2. Color: Green isn't really suited for us hehehe...Would blue be a better color? Especially since that's the color of the uni logo (guys, c'mon, comment!)

1st = can it be done in .swf format a.k.a animated banner?
2nd = the pixel for the banner...it seems to be wider than normal banner...

Fonts... I'll check into that and let you know. It depends really upon what fornts that the user's system/browser will support.
EDIT: in interest of keeping the most support across the board (im workng in linux here) I can go with Georgia.

Color.... sure, I can make it blue. Do you want the same type background, just blue? I can appy a color mask to it (if you want to call it that)
Edit: Ive made new blue background image using gimp. Ive also changed the color of the flash player to blue

Banner... to be honest, I am not a flash expert and dont know what it would take to get the banner up as a flash logo, but I imagine it could be possible. As to the size of it, I could resize it to something smaller, but I figured that it looks good to match the width of the content area. Its not really and ad banner, more of a site logo if you will. I will take that into consideration and resize it if i am told what you think might be a more appropriate size.

Lol... j/k - i know it is kind whack but I am not at all an artist, I was just using a pre made fill pattern in GIMP. That is why I need some good artists. I would really hate to have just a white background or whatever. Anyhow, Ive made a new Forum at the new site... The link isnt put up as of this moment but will be soon.
