Well so the journey begins from today...our journey as we prepare for the MAKUM competition...

Details

DAY ONE
We left UMP around 7.30pm...reached Wisma Belia, and came to this cute little studio...This was Mr.Indra's office (cool) & we sat down, started warming up & playing music we had performd together before...

Then Mr.Indra came in...All hell broke loose... Laughing

He told us that we WILL NOT USE ANY SHEET MUSIC. It's all going to be BY HEART from now 'til the end...

So the song we rehearsed was an instrumental one...I suspect it's Mr.Indra's composition, none of us had heard of it before...

DAY TWO

Now it's the second day...we left UMP in pretty high spirits...with new members added, our troupe was full! But we didn't performed at Wisma Belia, instead we went "somewhere" in Indera Mahkota, another studio, a smaller one.

There were other performers, also UMP students. This means Mr.Indra will do a selection to decide who is the best person to send for the competition. Oh how tense... Rolling Eyes

So it began...Mr.Asma, the drummer who helped us during Convo last sem dropped by to guide us. We finally managed to make the song smoother. We look forward for Day 3. Hopefully Mr.Indra will be able to come (he had a gig tonight so he wasn't free) & let us practise 2 other songs.

DAY THREE

We left at 2pm & we were in good spirits...everyone was goofing around haha & when we reached, Mr.Indra *gasp* came. So he added more parts...for everyone. Kai Bin was busy for the first time hahaha Laughing

So now the instrumental song is ALMOST complete, there's a spooky beginning, the quick melody, then there's the classical part, then back to the melody & the finale. We haven't started on the finale yet, we should finish the first song (we've 2 more...OMG) by tomorrow.

DAY FOUR

We left UMP at about 10am, then we rehearsed until 2pm when we had a break...tired...sleepy...exhausted...

We went to Giant & had KFC wahahaha that was fun! Rolling Eyes

Then it was rehearsing until 12.30am...reached UMP around 1.30am...

We FINALLY finished the instrumental song!! Yayyy Smile

Now 2 more songs to go Shocked

Well I'm waiting for more media, so in the meantime:

1. Love

Love was abound for this competition...Kai found a new crush from UMK woooo...

Gay couples!! Ariff with his 2 wives, Firdaus & Arvin. Rumors are Arvin is preggers with 8 babies!! Shocked

Ariff & Firdaus keep cheating on each other...tsk tsk Laughing

Then Shahrel & the oh-so-shy Nizam...my how sweet...

2. Results

We weren't selected to the finals but we were the 7th team...the top 6 teams became finalists. So I guess that's a pretty good result for us all...Next year we'll be better prepared Wink

3. Food

It was all about KFC & tom yam & seafood & sotong tepung goreng...Yum Razz

Seriously, really learn a lot from many peoples. It's a very good experience to entry this competition. Hope next year can join again. Must keep practice from now. yeah! Besides, who talent in any instrument must join next year also. Won't regret!!

Well it was a rush...We left UMP at 2pm, with our bags ready...rehearsed until 1am (I think haha) & then we finally settled our 3 songs..

Mr.Indra had a pep talk with us...he trained us how to move on stage...from bowing, to introducing the songs, setting up the instruments quickly, what to ask for from the technical people at UniMaP...we were nervous but prepared nevertheless Wink
