I've been wondering: Why Can't UMP Let Girls Sing for a Performance?

I mean I know we have a choir, but what's wrong with letting a female solo singer onstage? Honestly, is THAT offensive? Rolling Eyes

I KNOW people tell me it's because of the religion, but I sincerely think this is too much...I was especially thinking this because this weekend we are going to perform the songs from the MAKUM competition, & Sinaran is a great song, but we've to let guy(s) sing it because UMP authority may not like it...I don't know what to make of this, what are your opinions? Rolling Eyes

Yea la USIM also has girl singers...2 some more...so pretty...Does UIA also prohibit girls from singing solo onstage??

I agree, Sinaran is a girl song...if guys sing, it's so weird... Embarassed

They wan listen the songs from MAKUM but not let female solo...
kenot la, Sinaran is the climax of the three songs..
must try to deal with them!

Sigh...just too bad for us. They better not complain because our female singers don't get enough opportunities to practise on stage because SOME people have really small brains. Ugh.

Update: Mr.Zaki advised us not to have Ila sing on stage...Just great... Evil or Very Mad

aih. if really want to forbid because of religion, atleast let the non-muslim can sing hor. coz they didnt apply the same religion of islam ma. atleast we need to be fair. =X

They didn't say anything about non-muslims.
What the hell.
Lets go with that.
I'm sure it will take them awhile b4 coming up with a new regulation.

I was so angry during the rehearsal for the NC Debate dinner. Just because 1 idiot (I bet you can guess who) is coming, no girls can sing. Even if we put the girl singers in the back room, it's not allowed. Ridiculous.

Oh they had to ask the OG performers to "control" the natural movements we make while performing. What the hell Evil or Very Mad

let me ask u ea... in his home... during those song sang by female... on tv or radio... will he close his ears??? during his visit to kuantan.. will he close his ears if any shops there play a female song??? will he??

and act. if he sooooooooo offended our group, islam didn't even deny music!!!!!!

The man is being terribly unreasonable & immature.

If we can't even perform big time at our own uni, do they REALLY expect us to perform bigger time at other uni? At competitions? I can't understand the logic because THERE IS NO LOGIC.

If he's so afraid that he's gonna get his rocks off by listening to girls sing HARMLESS DECENT SONGS, then ask him to stay home. NO POINT to invite a dumbo.

I'm incredibly disappointed. I agree with some people that they hope he gets sacked.

But we're getting SLIGHTLY off topic. He's not the only one in UMP that's up against us. But we will try our best to prove that we can do well DESPITE all these negative obstacles.
